From March 27 to July 21, 2009, the Charles the Bold (1433-1477): splendor in Burgundy exhibition took place at the Groeninge Museum. The exhibition highlighted the Burgundian Duke Charles the Bold and the magnificent court with which he amazed his contemporaries. Charles’s showpieces, which were seized by the Swiss after his defeat at Grandson, formed the heart of the exhibition and provided an impressive glimpse into power, art, and splendor in the late Middle Ages.
