This hands-on exhibition invites you to play, explore, and truly feel how football has shaped and connected the city of Ghent for over 150 years. Through a scenography inspired by the lines, rhythms, and tensions of the game, you will dive into stories full of emotion: from forgotten local heroes to iconic championship moments. The historic site has been transformed into a world of grass pitches, chalk lines, and grid cabinets.
At Offside, you can explore Ghent’s football history and beyond—from the first kicks on a playground in Melle and the pioneers of women’s football, to the legendary KAA Gent championship celebration in 2015. Art, history, and personal stories come together in videos and surprising spaces, such as the VAR room and Kevin De Bruyne’s bedroom.
The family-friendly exhibition is designed as an interactive experience, perfectly suited for children, who are invited to kick, build, listen, and dream like true champions.
Offside is an initiative by STAM, in collaboration with the KAA Gent Foundation and Handelsreizigers in Ideeën.
