Long Live TV! 60 Years of Television

On 31 October 2013, the public broadcaster celebrated its sixtieth anniversary. To mark this milestone, Pièce Montée, in co-production with Historische Huizen Gent and VRT, created a large interactive exhibition.

For Long Live TV! 60 Years of Television, the exhibition drew from the entire VRT image archive and preserved television materials — from props and sets to cameras, lighting, and technical installations. The exhibition offered visitors a unique behind-the-scenes look at sixty years of public broadcasting. Across 2,000 m², visitors could immerse themselves in the worlds of game shows, sports, entertainment, fiction, news, and children’s programs — all within a setting featuring authentic television sets, legendary video clips, historical photographs, and iconic costumes.

The exhibition attracted 120,000 visitors.
