This exhibition tells the story of Albert Einstein — world-famous scientist, Nobel Prize laureate and Jew — who fled Europe in 1933 to escape the Nazi regime. His escape began in Belgium: when Einstein returned from the United States on 28 March 1933 aboard the Red Star Line, it became clear that he could no longer go back to Germany.
Visitors immerse themselves in this uncertain period and at the same time discover anecdotes about the daily life and moments of leisure of Einstein and his family. The story unfolds in four stages, each linked to a Belgian location.
The scenography visually divides the space using two large walls in a cross shape, creating four zones. Visitors are guided through the stages clockwise, from arrival to departure.
The design is inspired by the theme of travel: the walls are compact, modular and easy to transport, allowing the exhibition to be rebuilt at other locations.
