The exhibition Displaced brings together over forty personal stories of Belgian refugees during the First World War, translating this history into a powerful spatial experience.

The scenographic concept centers on monumental 3D arrows pointing in multiple directions. They serve as carriers of the stories and shape the architecture of the exhibition. The tangle of directions reflects the chaos, complexity, and disorientation that displacement brings. Visitors move physically through intersections of stories and forced journeys.

The installation extends from the museum galleries into the city center, where six outdoor arrows continue the narrative in public space.

Pièce Montée selected and curated nine contemporary illustrators who visualized the testimonies. The team also handled the graphic design, the integration of the illustrations onto the 3D structures, and the vitrine design. The project was realized as a design-and-build initiative, including production coordination and execution.
