In the monumental Counter Hall of the Flemish Parliament, Pièce Montée designed a new, contemporary layout in which reception, experience, and functionality come together. The space accommodates multiple functions: an information desk, a café, a visitor centre, meeting and lecture rooms, a meeting point for groups, and even a TV studio where visitors can attend live panel discussions with members of parliament.
We redefined and refined the existing zones and added new ones, resulting in improved zoning, circulation, and visitor experience, as well as noticeably better acoustic comfort. The café underwent a complete makeover and was acoustically separated from the Counter Hall by transparent glass walls — open in atmosphere, yet calm in use.
Above the existing exhibition modules, we added photo chandeliers as an additional layer of information. These visual elements subtly connect the different zones and create a layered spatial experience.
