For the Streuvelshuis, we developed an innovative way to engage the public. Instead of a traditional guided tour, a virtual guide leads visitors through immersive audio stories. Moving from room to room, they experience the house as if flipping through a book: from spread to spread, from story to story, from space to space. And the best part? The house itself becomes the storyteller. For younger visitors, we also designed an engaging children’s trail.
Thanks to the powerful visual and auditory guide, we were able to keep the scenography intentionally subtle, with great respect for the house and garden as valuable heritage. In the dining room, we installed an introductory timeline. Throughout the rest of the house, we made a few small graphic interventions that blend harmoniously with the preserved interior. In the garden, we created quiet spots with beautiful views, where selected quotes from Streuvels’ impressive oeuvre are subtly presented to visitors.
